In the eco-print workshop, under the guidance of Janika Solmann, you will get skills to design beautiful natural fabrics with plants. We create exciting and unique leaf patterns for the fabrics. Silk fabric is used because it accepts natural pigments most easily. As we had to postpone our workshop in May, we will find plant material directly from nature. During the learning process, we pay special attention to the fundamentals of the plant varieties, the composition and the use of natural dyes. The main goal is that the participants could later repeat the process independently. Students will prepare a number of exciting and distinctive work.
The workshop includes: necessary tools, silk cloth approx 45x120cm, cotton fabric, and a small healthy lunch bite. If there is a desire to make more pieces, you can also buy additional materials from the teacher.
WE WILL TALK ABOUT:
The suitability of different plants • Adding natural dye to your work • Pre-treatment of the fabric•
YOU WILL RECIVE• Basic knowledge of the plant composition • Your own printed Silk fabric and cotton planket• Information materials that will help you to repeat the result at hom • Post-training support • The positive energy of plants and good emotion from fellow learners.
We recommend comfortable clothes. Bring your own apron and rubber gloves. No prior experience is required!
